H2 Innovations
Effective 2026-07-21RetroConnect is built by H2 Innovations, a small company working to make industrial
field work better. This is our whole policy, in plain language. It is bundled inside
the app so you can read it anywhere, and it is the same policy we file with the app
stores.Questions or data requests: hixonsix@gmail.com
The short version
RetroConnect pays attention to equipment, not people. As you work, the app sends us
anonymous notes about the devices you connect to: what they are, how they are set up,
how they behave. Like a modern truck reporting its own engine health, this reporting is
built in and automatic, and it is how the app keeps getting better at the equipment you
rely on.There is nothing about you in it: no account, no name, no email, no login. We do not
sell personal information about you; we never have it in the first place.
What we collect
Every record is about equipment, or about how the app itself performed:
Equipment identity, settings, and readings: manufacturer, model, serial number,
firmware, protocol, and the values we read.
Diagnostic session recordings: the traffic between the app and the equipment,
captured when something goes wrong so we can fix it.
App and interface diagnostics: app version, phone platform, and the Zer0's own
serial and firmware.
Equipment location, captured with your phone's permission at the moment you
connect, plus the site name you type (name the site, not a person).
Anything you attach to an issue report: photos, voice notes, and your note. Photo
location and camera metadata are stripped before upload.
Each record carries a random installation identifier generated on your device, so we
can tell one installation's reports from another's. It is not your name, an account,
or your phone's hardware identity.Records travel over an encrypted connection (TLS) to our data box.
What stays yours
Your calibration reports are generated and stored on your device. They are your
compliance records: the technician name and the free text in them are never part of
what we collect.
No advertising identifier, no tracking, no contacts, no browsing history. We do not
profile people.
Session recordings carry no location. It is stripped before the recording is sealed.
Why we collect it
One reason, really: to make everything better. Diagnosing a device that is not
working, improving the workflows technicians actually use, and building our picture of
the installed base (what equipment exists, where, and in what condition) so we know
what to build and fix next.
What we do with equipment data
That installed-base picture guides our work, and over time insights drawn from it may
become part of products and services we offer, including sharing or licensing
equipment-level information with partners. Whatever we share describes equipment. It
never identifies you, and it never includes your installation identifier. We do not sell personal information about you. To anyone. Ever.
How long we keep it
Equipment history is most valuable when it is long: a fault pattern can take years to
show itself. So we keep equipment and diagnostic records indefinitely.
Deleting your data
Write to hixonsix@gmail.com with roughly when you used the app and which equipment you
worked on, and we will find and delete your installation's records.
Changes to this policy
When the policy changes, the bundled copy and the effective date at the top change
with it.
